Small Talk Tampa started with a simple idea: real first dates are more interesting than anything scripted. So we started filming them, one local spot at a time.
Before Tampa, I did something similar in Denver, shooting photo and video for people on dates. I also went on my own blind date once, filmed for Rooster Magazine, so I know what it's like on both sides of the camera. When I moved out here, I wanted to take that idea further and make it my own.
I want to help people around Tampa find love while putting a spotlight on some of the best spots in town, and dates shouldn't stop at dinner. That's why each episode moves through different parts of the city: a bike ride, ice cream, a museum, whatever fits the night. As the roster of venues grows, so does the range of things Tampa daters get to experience, all while building a stronger local community and giving people more bang for their buck when it comes to a night out.
